About Forum
The Tai Mountain Robotics Forum of the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics (ICARM 2017) will take place in Tai’an, China, during August 30th – 31st, 2017. The objective of Tai Mountain Robotics Forum is to provide an international forum that brings together researchers, educators, engineers, and government officials involved in the general areas of mechatronics, robotics, automation and sensors to disseminate their latest research results and exchange views on the future research directions of these fields. Tai’an lies at the south foot of Mount Tai which is considered as the first of the five sacred mountains of China. And it will not only provide the attendees with a great venue for this event, but also a great chance to experience the beautiful natural landscape and traditional culture.

Forum Address: 367 Ying Sheng Road, Taishan district, Tai’an, Shangdong
Cars:  From the Tai’an Coach Station to the Tai Shan Blossom Hotel is 1.6 Kilometres, and is about 4 minites taxi ride away.
Trains:  From the Tai’an Railway Station to the Tai Shan Blossom Hotel is 7 Kilometres, and is about 15 minutes taxi ride away.


University of Science and Technology of China
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is a prominent university in China and enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide. It was established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1958 in Beijing, as a strategic action by the Chinese government, to meet China’s science and technology needs and increases the country’s international competitiveness. CAS integrated its resources with USTC, with the aim of educating top talent in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary science and technology. The establishment of USTC was hailed as “a great event in the history of education and science of China”. In 1970, USTC moved to its current location in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province.

Founded in December 2014, HIT Robot Group (HRG) International Institute for Research and Innovation is a high-tech enterprise jointly set up by Heilongjiang provincial government, the municipal government of Harbin and Harbin Institute of Technology. The Group is principally engaged in industrial robots, service robots, specialized robots, intelligent cloud robots, emerging intelligent equipment, intelligent plant projects and related technology transfer, technical consulting and technology services.

South China University of Technology
South China University of Technology (SCUT) is one of the leading universities in China. It is directly affiliated to the State Ministry of Education. Located in the city of Guangzhou, the thriving metropolis in South China, it covers a total area of 294 hectares consisting of two campuses: Wushan Campus and University Town Campus. The university was formerly known as South China Institute of Technology, which was first established in 1952 by merging several major polytechnic institutes in Guangdong province at the time, and also absorbing a number of relevant departments from universities in other provinces. The institute and its predecessors had a long history in education and research, especially in training talents of engineering and technology. Its outstanding tradition traced back to the earlier 20th century, when Chinese modern thoughts of democracy and science were emerging and developing in its own particular style in Guangdong province.

Introduction of Mount Tai
Mount Tai, a typical representative of the Chinese famous traditional mountains, is a mountain with a long history and a special historic status, which is located in the middle part of Shandong province spanning two cities (Tai’an city and Jinan city) with total area of 426 square kilometers. Mount Tai is in a superior geographic location with abundant water and thermal resources. As a mountainous scenic spot, it has high values in term of aesthetics and science, especially the aesthetic value, which is the foundation for Mount Tai becoming a famous mountain in the history and the world natural and cultural heritage today. We can say that Mount Tai is the symbol of spiritual culture of China and the unique heritage of the world.
